Shelley Duvall, renowned for 'The Shining' and muse to Robert Altman, passes away at the age of 75.

Shelley Duvall, acclaimed for her roles in "The Shining" and "Popeye," passed away at her Blanco, Texas home at 75, her partner Dan Gilroy confirmed. Duvall had been in hospice care and bedridden due to diabetes complications. Gilroy expressed profound grief, describing her as enduring much suffering before peacefully passing in her sleep.

Duvall, recognized for collaborations with Robert Altman and her Cannes Film Festival-winning performance in "3 Women," was celebrated for her versatility in films like "McCabe & Mrs. Miller," "Nashville," and "Annie Hall." Despite her success, Duvall candidly reflected on the challenges of filming "The Shining," where director Stanley Kubrick's demanding approach took a toll.

In recent years, Duvall had taken a step back from acting, making a poignant return in 2023's "The Forest Hills." Director Scott Goldberg remembered her as radiant, kind, and sharp, reflecting on her impact and expressing deep sadness at her passing.
